About me

My name is Jo and I am the creator of Daisy M. I live in Great Wakering with my husband, my two children and our mischievous dog - who loves to be the centre of attention!

My first experience of ceramics was a course at Sixth Form College - a long, long time ago. I never dreamed that I would have my own equipment, and certainly never considered that I'd make things that other people wanted to have in their homes. Several years ago I started using an old kick wheel that I had purchased online, then my husband bought me a second-hand kiln - and this was the real beginning for me. 

I decided that if I ever made ceramics to sell I'd use the name Daisy as this was the nickname my husband has given me, and it was he that had encouraged and helped me so much.

During the lockdown of 2020 I made my first Daisy M Fairy House. Having showed it to a couple of friends I decided to make a few more. Someone asked if I had a Facebook page - I didn't, but decided I'd better get one! From then I set up a shop on Numonday.com and it went on from there.

As I've gained confidence in throwing on the wheel, I have developed my own style of decoration. I take inspiration from my garden, the countryside and the local beach.
